Global Warming and Climate Change} There are 3 set's of people that need to be convinced!

By far the largest set, are people that have no opinion one way or the other, and really do not see how it could make much difference, in their day to day lives. If the government would simply build more dams to control the increased flooding that most see as the only direct result. Then why bother worrying about something that you have no control over. The next larger set contains people that have lots of different reasons for not wanting to have to respond to any need to change how they approach the world. From people working in the fossil fuel industry and this number is in the many millions, to people that can afford a more upscale lifestyle and all of the amenities that come with that lifestyle, to politicians, commentators, and writers that profit from being on "that side of the issue" So you can see these are some of the most influential people on the planet. The smallest set is the climate change believers, one of there main problems that prevent them from changing others opinions are that they are seen as extremists, and that is only ok, if that is in relation to some Christian doctrine, but not seen as a selling point to the mainstream public for a serious discussion about a serious subject! Oh yes, there is one more set, but it only seems to have one person in it and he does not have to be convinced, because it is me. I keep seeing people that believe in global warming as the people most likely to warm to my side of this most important issue, but I wonder if that is only a pipe dream, because many of them are so locked into what has caused this crisis, that trying to explain the true cause, and therefore the only way to repair it, does not fit their preconceived notion that only reducing our carbon footprint will work! So that only leaves me with the scientist community. And while that is the most logical place to start, for someone like me with no standing in that community, and with the perceived notion that people have, both myself and others. Only time will tell! First, how do scientist's come up with around 50,000 gigatonnes of available carbon left on the planet?
