CCLXXXVII Global Warming and Climate Change} Yesterday, I explained that it did not matter what an individual's stand was on global warming!

The "plan" would benefit all of mankind, in some way or other with minimal investment, paying for itself many times over. So how would it be presented to the world? The post itself is only several hundred words long, but does not go into any detail on the plan itself. I assume a good writer could break the "plan down into 20,000 words or so for the general population to read to get all of the big points in. Then we would need to explain in much greater detail to those of us who would be putting the plan into action, only by knowing the full reason why, could these people understand for instance, why alfalfa is a much more important way of using the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere then trees would be! Why dam's collecting waters straight from melting glaciers would be used not just to prevent downstream flooding but also to re-build those same glaciers each winter. Those working in Antarctica to store much greater amounts of ice will need to understand that the farth

CCLXXXVI Global Warming and Climate Change} What seems to be the obstacles that we have to overcome in putting the "plan" into action?

There are two, mainstream points of view, when it comes to Global Warming and climate change, First is that it is all caused by mankind's use of fossil fuels and, our agricultural practices and we need to stop all forms of generating greenhouse gases as quickly as possible, and remove the greenhouse gases to levels that were normal prior to the industrial revolution! Yes, there will be a great cost associated with repairing the planet but there is really no option if life on the planet is to survive!                                                                              The second, is that the planet is both too large to be adversely affected by mankind's actions and that carbon dioxide is what plant life needs to grow and so it is just a good fertilizer for increasing both plant life and its production of edible food, and any extreme weather is just with-in a normal range of the planet's every changing weather cycles! Why do we need to spend outrageous amounts of mon

Global Warming and Climate Change! Perpetual motion is impossible even on a planetary scale! This is "NOT" a letter about denying climate change, but how to repair it correctly!

Perpetual Motion is impossible, early on in their education every scientist is taught this fact! But when it comes to our "Planet," they all seem to have forgotten this detail, and they can say that there is an excellent reason for that, the planet has had life on it for billions of years, so it must somehow be able to overcome, this problem, perhaps the sun with its endless energy as an outside source does that! The fact is that the planet has had both several major extinction events, and many minor extinction events, due to this problem of perpetual motion! All were caused by changes in the planet's atmosphere! Life itself, is what normally changes the atmosphere and the gases that it contains, These gases are what life has to use, nothing is ever perfectly recycled! Over time, everything changes, but it can take millions of years to do so, and this gives life a chance to adapt to those changes, but even this is a continuing process, change never stops because life neve

CCLXXXIII Global warming and climate change} No matter what anyone is thinking about this subject, there is one very good solution!

The only correct solution, that will allow all carbon-based life on the planet to continue for as long as humanity can maintain itself. Once we are no longer a viable species on the planet, then all bets will be off, and whatever available carbon is left, will continue being sequestrated at around 7 gigatonnes per year, when carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere drop below 180 parts per million, then the last ice age will begin, when levels of carbon dioxide drop to below 150 parts per million, then C3 plant life will die leaving just C4 and cam plant life, this will reduce most mammal life drastically. So you all who have been reading my posts and at my blog have not done what I have asked, and that is to tell others, so I am going to have to start going another direction, 7000 hits and not one comment or feedback, not acceptable! While I will still post once in a while on this site, my main focus will be in another direction. I had hoped that trying to reach the masses would have b

285 Global Warming and climate change} Perpetual Motion can not exist even on a planetary scale, even with, an outside energy source. A star!

The concept itself is not new, we know that even a "Star" does not last forever, but something in the range of 15,000,000,000 plus years is a long time! If we know that life on any Planet will sooner or later come up against the logistics of running out of some necessary requirement for life because nothing can be perfectly recycled forever. That too is in the same category as perpetual motion, no such thing! It then all comes down to "when" something starts to run out, how do we know? Everyone understands that we need to make trips to refill food, gas, clothes, every and anything that we use up, or wear out in life! All we need to do is look in our cupboards, check the gas gauge, but we never think about what the planet needs! 1,000 years ago we would not have understood any of this, but we can not use that excuse today! The planet does have a "gas gauge" we learned about it a while back, we just did not know how to read it. There were some of the same si

CCLXXXII Global Warming and Climate Change} Why is change so hard, I am not talking about physical change like new inventions?

But how we see ourselves, our country, our sex, our race, our species? Yet we can not even explain to ourselves what that means? I saw a woman who had written a book about how bad the majority of people are, and she had many people agreeing with her! And that started me thinking, I have always thought of people being basically good, and yet mankind has done such evil in the world. Did we judge all Germans in the 1930s and '40s as evil because of the Nazi Party? I was not alive then, but what I read did not seem to be so, I had read about both world wars, and could understand why the Germans in the 1930s had felt that they had been badly treated. A strong party and a Transformational leader was hard to resist, Just look at how well, Donald Trump did running the Republican party the last 4 years, But he did so by causing strife within the country, you were either with him and the moral high ground that said that America could do no wrong and has stood for freedom since its founding!

CCLXXX Global Warming and Climate Change} All of the different ways that mankind can completely change our planet for the better!

1) keep every drop of water that falls on land from re-entering the Oceans. This will make us do several things, keep the vast amount of plastics out of the oceans, make us collect all of the soils that are being eroded away by erosion due to the movement of water, which will keep quite a bit of soil carbon from being sequestrated away from the planets use.                                                                                                        2) 2) Replant all of the arid and semi-arid areas of the planet that is physically possible, using all of the above mentioned fresh-water supplies. Cover crops are what is needed here, not nut trees, or fruit trees, or other types of trees, until the cover crops are well established and then plant the trees directly into the cover crop. The idea here is to increase plant respiration as quickly as possible, so that cloud cover and rainfall amounts are increased, this will both increase reflection of sunlight off of the new cloud cov

281 Global Warming and Climate Change} How can we truly know if the planet is really running out of Available carbon?

Math! Yes, that dreaded of all subjects, but also the easiest to verify. Prior to what we have termed the industrial age, carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere were in the 280 parts per million range! While the onset of an ice-age starts between 180 parts per million and 200 parts per million depending on how much sunlight is reaching the planet! I just read where scientist's stated that with the "enormous amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere "WHAT ARE THEY THINKING" there is only .0415 % of the atmosphere that is carbon dioxide! All life is based on carbon, in the form of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, C3 plants die at around .015%, and long before that, their yields of food that mankind needs to survive, start to drop off! With-out mankind on this planet, carbon dioxide levels would drop around 2 parts per million every year, due to carbon sequestration, both by soil erosion, and by the death and burial of shell life in the waters of the planet. Meaning

CCLXXIX Global Warming and Climate Change} What, next chapter? Many books state that when all of mankind is at stake we will come together.

I loved the series that started with "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card. It had the whole planet, setting aside their differences, to fight a foe that none could fight alone. Of course, once that foe was vanquished, all bets were off, and back to the races, the whole world went. Will our planet's next chapter, start with enough scientists and politicians getting together on the same page and being pushed by millions of people the whole world over, to overcome the last three million years of the planet's adaptation to lower carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? I have set forth the "plan" the only "plan" that will work in a relatively short amount of time, that would cost, very little in the beginning, end up making many millions of people self-employed, paid back with interest, by saving billions of dollars that would have been wasted, on treating only the symptoms of the actual problem that our planet is facing! Growing bonds of cooperation with G

Global Warming and Climate Change} I am trying as best I know how, to start a conversation on the most important topic that this planet will face.

"EARTH", with-out this planet, the solar system would simply be another dead zone in a very empty part of the Universe. Do I think that this planet is the only habitable planet, no that would defy the odds. But I do understand that every planet that is able to support life will sooner or later come up against the same logistical problem that Earth is now facing. No system that supports life, can ever be a perfect recycling system, no matter how many people say that perpetual motion is possible simply because a star is supplying enough energy! We say that this planet is in a "Goldilocks" position, was it so 4.5 billion years ago, NO, was it 3 billion years ago yes, but not for anything that is alive now! Life, time, the type of star, how much material was still out there bombarding the planet, all causes changes, that helps determine what life can survive and when! We are so fortunate, to be here now, we have won the biggest crap-shoot in the universe. A thousand die

277 Global Warming and Climate Change} Why do we have so many ways of talking, that only make us think we understand each other?

When in the long run, nothing could be farther from the truth. I drove 1300 miles to a wedding last month, that had the potential of being a way for covid-19 to be spread around, luckily none of the hundred or so people that we came in contact with, reported any such misfortune. Why did my wife and I go, when both of us have been very careful about keeping minimum contact with others since the start? That has to do with family responsibility, and most people going were between 20 and 65, fairly healthy, and had not known anyone that had covid-19 in the last month. Still, it was not the best decision, thankfully it turned out well, but conversations that were made did not always turn out as well. There were people from 10 different States there and many were from the Southern States, where simple things such as sarcasm, were quite different and many times not always understood to be sarcasm, and even if someone realized that it was sarcasm, there understanding of what had really been sa

CCLXXVI Global Warming and Climate Change} Or we could say 13 score and 16, that would just be silly! or 14 score less 4, even sillier! Milankovitch

Last post I never talked about, Milutin Milankovitch, and how the Earth's changes of obits were thought to be very influential in the coming and going of individual ice-ages! These "Milankovitch Oscillations as they came to be called back in the 1930s, gave an explanation for the why, that I did not like at all, Had the planet suddenly changed its orbital path just starting 2.5 million years ago, no it was still following what it has done for billions of years!       Then in the 1970s, an in-depth study of these "Oscillations" was done and they showed that these "Oscillations" did not cause ice-ages but only "paced" them, I really liked that term "paced" it helped me come to understand that there had to be a cause for ice-ages but also a reason why they come and go, with such a pattern, that could lead to the real reason why! It still took me 30 more years to finally both eliminate ideas and understand how important the oceans were

CCLXXV Global Warming and Climate Change} Last post we talked about the amount of available carbon that is left on the planet!

All of the numbers that I gave you are from reputable scientific sources, you know by now that I am not a scientist! And that I also do not quote where each number comes from, I want YOU to do the research, check, check, and triple-check, everything, all numbers that I give you can be verified, and every number that I give you is stated in many places, yes there will sometimes be a range of numbers, I give you the ones that are the best-case scenario for how much is left, or how long we have got! You will ask if everyone has the same numbers that I have access to, why do I see things so differently? The easy answer is that I had started the quest of why the planet entered into the current period of having long periods of ice advancing on the planet with a very short period of inter-glacier timeframes in a cyclical nature, starting around 2.5 million years ago, over 50 years ago. Quite a while before Global Warming and Climate Change became buzzwords in our lexicon, I was looking for w

CCLXXIV Global Warming and Climate Change} Let's talk more, about the 50,000 gigatonnes of available carbon, that is left for all life on the planet!

First, how do scientist's come up with around 50,000 gigatonnes of available carbon left on the planet? Some of the amounts can be directly measured, how much there is in the atmosphere is one of the most researched numbers on the planet! That figure of 415 parts per million equals around 800 gigatonnes of carbon, in the form of carbon dioxide. 560 gigatonnes in plant and animal life are based on both satellite images for how much plant life is on the planet during the year and measurements that were taken by hundreds of people every year all around the planet. How much soil carbon, is taken by averaging soil carbon from all over the globe this amount is said to be 1,500 gigatonnes. The amount of "fossil Fuels" is the amount of "known" reserves found by mainly oil accompanying who has been looking as far and fast as they can, that amount is estimated at 4,000 gigatonnes (The carbon sequestrated in fossil fuels would only become available if mankind continues to
