Global Warming and Climate Change} Why do I consider that the planet is facing a final life exiction event?
In some ways, I do not, but that is based on mankind's ability to remain viable on this planet! Right now we are in the middle of a pandemic, which we call the coronavirus or COVID-19, weather it was man-made and accidentally released, or just another virus no one seems to know? Will it become more dangerous or less as it changes with time, no one seems to know, will it become another flu-like illness that reoccurs every year, no one seems to know. There is simply not enough information out there yet for scientists to understand how this virus will change over time as all viruses are known to do. We all want answers, but they simply do not know and may not know for quite some time, finding a vaccine, seem's to be our best chance for getting life back to normal. However, it seems that no one even knows if getting the disease, gives you immunity from getting it again? Way too many unknowns, at this point in time, thankfully most people and children have little or no serious complications, but again, it is way too early to see if that will remain so, and that is no help for many of the more vulnerable of our society! For the vast majority of all people that get COVID-19, there is no symptoms or only mild symptoms, however, those that do end up with serious enough symptoms to require testing and possible hospitalization, the fatality rates, has been increasing the longer it has been since the first cases in China! the overall fatality rates for those needing hospitalization were around 14% prior to reaching the USA, and since reaching the United States has risen to over 16%, assuming accurate reporting numbers, and assuming that how to treat patients should be increasing in knowledge with time and conversation with the medical profession of other counties that had the disease hit early then the U.S. this would all imply that the COVID-19 is becoming more deadly for a larger segment of society! Perhaps part of this could be the result of how our elderly our housed in America, compared to other parts of the planet. Placing many more of our most vulnerable together in groups in nursing homes and retirement community, that most of the other country's do not do, to the degree that we do. But all of this being said I seriously doubt that mankind will be wiped out by any disease or plague, if that was a possibility, then we should have seen a complete loss of the Native American population due to the disease's brought over from Alfro-Europe population! Estimates of as high as 90% due to both disease and conquest or perhaps as many as 55,000,000 to 90,000,000 men women and children died, and during the middle ages in Europe the Black Plague killed somewhere between 30 and 50% of its population, And that was with almost no knowledge of medical treatments, and any treatment that was used only increased the death rate, such as bloodletting, and injecting poisons! So as long as mankind stays as a viable species on this planet, then we will maintain the ability to sooner or later come to understand how the planet sequestration of carbon both by erosion and sea life, have doomed all life on this planet without a thinking and acting species (mankind) than can cause both the repairing of the temperature regulation ability of the planet, and maintaining of adequate carbon dioxide in the atmosphere even once all of the fossil fuels are used up!
