Global Warming and Climate Change } Why can't things just stay the same, will life not just use the extra CO2?

If only that was true, but the planet has lost that ability to simply produce more rain in the places that needs it, for plant life to be re-established, even with there being enough Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere now, for plant life to be in abundant though-out the warmer parts of the planet. For it is that very plant life that allows cooler temperatures and more rainfall caused both by plant respiration, and cooler temperatures caused by the ground cover that the plants provide. Without both of these, and in large enough areas so that cloud cover is actually enhanced can we start to help the planet to rebuild its temperature regulating abilities! The main problems with just planting trees to suck up the extra carbon dioxide that mankind has brought back into the atmosphere of the planet, is really three-fold, 1st. trees take a very long time to grow and are not real good at total ground cover. 2nd. The energy and time necessary to protect the number of trees that would be required to soak up enough carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in an arid or semi-arid climate would be extremely large with very little return on investment for years and years. 3rd. Tree planting has worked very well in a wet climate such as Florida in the United States where it was used for drying out swampy lands in massive planting but never tried in arid climates, but in semi-arid climates such as Hasey National Forrest in Nebraska, it has been quite a success, both for its sandy soil stabilization and its ability for ground cover after many years of growth, however, they are suspectable to wildfires that can take decades to recover from. While plant cover from alfalfa and other ground covers can bring a quick return on investments, and also can recover faster from fires or other natural causes, plus will help regulate the temperature of the planet faster, and can be modified as needed in as little as one growing season! Some would say that a forest environment is a right fix for locking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere for long periods of time, however, I would point out that, it is not our main concern, but to re-establish cloud cover over much more of the planet, in a timely fashion, and creating lives and living for the many millions of humanity! First, how do scientist's come up with around 50,000 gigatonnes of available carbon left on the planet? Some of the amounts can be directly measured, how much there is in the atmosphere is one of the most researched numbers on the planet!
