205 Global Warming and Climate Change} Way to go Denmark, you have been the top readers lately!
I was talking about why all planet that does not have a species on it that can and will understand that life can not exist forever without help, will ultimately run out of something that is critical to life's survival and die. Many will freeze over, others will heat up so much that the water may all evaporate, or a million other possibilities! Each and every livable planet "out there" has an expiration date, it may be billions of years in the making as ours was or only a billion years as I expect Mars was. But with the number of possibilities of planets that can sustain life, we must expect there to be many that do. But how many will also have a species that can maintain that life before it is too late to do so? On our planet, it seems to be carbon in the form of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is our limiting factor, but is that the only limiting factor that our planet will even have or will there be others down the road that we just do not see? If I had to guess I would say that there must be something else, just like the great Oxidation event, was very slow in coming but produced mass die-offs of most species that had existed until then, what lies ahead for this planet could be almost anything, and maybe by going back into history eons ago, we may be able to catch a glimpse of what may be in store, but it probably will not be the same as before but it may be connected somehow, we just have to dig and decipher what we are truly seeing. This is a lot of conjecture and supposition on my part, but life truly is very connected and confusing on how things interact with seemingly little or no known relationship! I was watching how the re-introduction of wolfs into Yellowstone National Park, made so many unexpected changes in the eco-system, that no one had thought about, and from what I understand, all for the over-all good. It seems that no matter how much we think we know, life proves us mistaken time and time again. My younger sister would say that once she thought that she was wrong about something, but it turned out that she was only mistaken! Well anyway, I laughed.
