CCLXI Global Warming and Climate Change} Does the great rivers of the planet hold enough water to undo 3 millions years of desert formation?

Yes, because no matter how fast we can start to replant the arid and semi-arid areas of the planet, the new amount of plant transpiration that will be adding moisture into the atmosphere will continue to increase the rainfall amounts around the planet, leading to more additional river flows. This is one of the main premises of increasing plant life in such areas, this is how the planet's water cycles work! There may even come a time that rainfall amount will outperform the need for more supplemental irrigation in certain places around the planet. This would be generations into the future, and hopefully, the knowledge that mankind has learned about the needs of the planet would hold us in good stead. Those of us alive now, will only be remembered for our foresight in putting in place, a course of action, that will have helped ensure the continuation of life on the only planet we can call home. I am concerned about how to set up an organization that would help those that would live and work the the "PLAN" to repair the planet, and keep it in non-corporation hands, for there will be times that with all of the moving of dirt, rock, stones, and water they will uncover unexpected items, that other would be greatly interested in! There would need to have observers in place that would be able to understand when special or important finds were made, this could range from ancient artifacts, to minerals, to geological important discoveries. With oversight protection so that such finds would be used in the correct manner that would benefit the overall "plan" and not grease someone's pocket, or cause an important find to be misdirected, or forever lost to humanity! It would be best if a universal agreement could be installed between all countries on the handling of such finds, and how they would be looked at with-out going to court! You could imagine what problems could arise upon the finding of an ancient burial mound or tomb, or from finding a seam of gold, silver, or some other precious metal! Any problems that can be worked out prior to its need, in all of the aspects of how the "plan" would need to first fulfill its main goal of planetary repair and then the goal of not making more millionaires, but making millions of people and families into prosperous farmers and business owners. The most important aspect of the "Plan" is that it must be, by its very definition never-ending, only by having a thinking and acting species on the planet, and balancing the need for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with the rate of the overall sequestration of carbon, can the continuation of all life on the planet be maintained in abundance. Those needs may change as we learn more about the interaction of life, sun, clouds, the oceans (this is one big area that science has not yet begun to understand the interaction of carbon and life, remember since the start of the lastest ice-age 2.5 million years ago the planet has sequestrated around  17.5 million gigatons of carbon that could have only been released from the oceans of the planet, as the build-up of ice on the planet allowed for the release of the necessary carbon dioxide into the atmosphere for the slow warming up inter-glacier period could happen. This shows that the amount of carbon dioxide that can be stored in the oceans with-out changing its ability for sea life to exist in quantities even larger than what there is now, has to be hundreds of times more than the lowly 39,000 gigatonnes that reside in today's oceans, yes the sea life may have changed in many ways to adapt to the lowing carbon content of the ocean waters over the last 2.5 million years, but we could easily do studies to see how the sea life of these oceans react to increased concentration of carbon dioxide in its waters, a very easy and cheap experiment to do!) If we find that there would be no real change in the sea life in the oceans, perhaps my plan of reducing red tides would also help the oceans to store more carbon dioxide directly into its depths with only positive side effects for the planet. We may only have to increase the amount of pumping station to inject much more of the atmospheric air to increase both needed oxygen and help in removing any excess carbon dioxide until we begin the massive replanting effect around the planet!
