CCCV Global Warming and Climate Change } Let's talk about knowingly allowing lies to be spread, be it on the internet, newsprint, or some other way.

     Right now, on the internet, many sites may either put a disclaimer on a tweet or a post, when facts are being played with, but those that already believe mistruths, are still able to see the comments, a disclaimer at the bottom will only strengthen their conviction that they are being lied to! While many other sites have administrators that will not allow comments that differ from their opinions. Many times my own submissions on these sites will not be allowed! There is such a fine line between "free speech" and spreading lies or misinformation for personal or professional gain! If you then throw religious beliefs into the mix, how do we go forth? I do not believe that China has the answer, with their way of stopping such disinformation from being spread, or knowledge to be withheld. In Germany, anything to do with Nazi idealism is forbidden, and yet, it is not unusual to see it in many places, and even hidden in high places of the government, so that does not seem to work well. Secretes are always used as power, followers are easy to manipulate if you can play on their emotions, Europe treated Germany very bad after World War 1 and we saw the results, Germany was treated much differently after World War 2, and again we saw the results. One of the strongest States on the planet, as is Japan. Those in charge back then, were true visionaries, and the whole planet should be proud of them! They saw so many different hates and differing points of view, and chose not to continue the past ways of bringing those hates forward. But here we are again, repeating old ways of dealing with blame, to make ourselves feel that whatever we do is in some way justified! Many times this includes religious idealism, and yet what religion is not about healing and forgiveness, and helping those less fortunate than others. This is always about power, influence, and money, there will always be a few in the upper regions who use their influence, to create extremists. This then creates more divisions even within their own religion, and outside entities that use these events to term everyone in that religion as the same. In doing so, even those that strongly disagree with those who created this animosity, still will do anything they can to defend their faith. Following this path, "of us versus them", has always led us to do terrible things in the name of what we believe!     We have allowed untruths and lies to be spread on every platform that there is, from newsprints in the form of yellow journalism, to tabloid magazines, and now the greatest place of all "the internet" where you can almost never tell truth from outright lies, I can not tell you how many people in Nebraska truly believe that Donald Trump won the 2020 election, and now they believe that President Bilden has an advanced case of dementia. Free Speech, is supposed to allow for different opinions to be heard, not for the telling of outright lies for either a political advantage or profits, there has to come a point where some proof has to be given! Saying "I believe that", or "well that is what I heard", Or I do not have to show proof because those in power can hide anything they want to, so there is no "proof" but that does not make it untrue! Without some form of standards on what can be put out there for others to read, see, or hear, divisions can only become greater. This has become the same as someone standing up in a theater yelling fire when there is no fire, causing all sorts of serious issues, perhaps January 6th was just one of the first major examples of what this type of "Fake News" can cause! Yet as always, it is the ones that "others" have convinced, that are paying the price for becoming followers! The very old saying, you can fool some of the people all of the time, some of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time, has never been more true than it is now. Fox News, claims to be the leader in telling the truth, yet the second I hear someone tell me what Fox News has reported, I will listen but only to see what lies others are trying to pass off as the "REAL" truth, not good because they do give just enough real facts that it makes you wonder which is true and which just plays on peoples fears?
