CCLXXXIX Global Warming and Climate Change} The giant heat pumps of the planet, DESERTS and they are growing!

Since the end of the last ice age around 13,000 years ago, almost every arid and semi-arid area of the planet has increased in size! Some were caused by poor agricultural practices by mankind but not most. Most were caused because "like begets like" once an area becomes dry, plant populations lessen, leading to less plant respiration, and therefore less cloud cover and its accompanying rainfall. But this also has a positive effect, the warmer air produced during the daylight hours as the sun's rays hit unprotected soils, raises up this hotter air, into the trade winds or other movements of air, and distributes this increased heat around the planet preventing the planet from cooling enough for it to enter into another ice-age. This in conjunction with mankind's new introduction of agricultural practices starting several thousand years ago reintroduces carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere quicker than in prior times. All of this adds up to a warmer climate, but the real problem is the greater temperature extremes from day to night, these extreme temperature variations, are what lead to extreme weather! When cloud cover was much more abundant over the whole planet, then the differences in temperature within a 24 hour day were much less and lead to both more rainfall, but too much less extreme weather events, think of gentle rains compared to severe thunderstorms!     Scientists, seem to dismiss, deserts as areas causing extreme weather because they seem to think that since it is so cold at night, this balances out the daytime heat! That is not how the atmosphere of the planet works, winds are created by many things, the rotation of the planet, the differing elevations of the rising and lowering landmasses, but the greatest cause of wind development is air temperature which creates high and low pressures to form and this causes winds by the movement of high pressure into low-pressure areas and the greater the pressure difference then the stronger the winds and the resulting masses of moisture containing winds are directly respondable for severe weather! Reduce this extreme temperature variations and the chances of extreme weather drops! This is how the "plan" works!
