CCCXXIX Global Warming and Climate Change} Last post we talked about why mankind would be resistant to being the saviors of the planet.

        I am going to throw out a few ideas that may be employed to repair the planet, but would really be about putting 50,000,000 people to work being their own bosses as 20 acres truck farming families, that would produce goods that the planet needs! The United Nations would be in charge of the foundation that would oversee "Project Self-Reliant" (or some other name that conveys that ideal). Since this is such a huge project, the oversite foundation would need to be made up of elected members that can only serve 1, 4-year term and every year 25% of them would be term-limited out, this would keep some balance, on greed by opportunity, but other oversite would be needed continuously, those in charge are not the only ones to find a way to profit. Since the overall need of replanting the arid and semi-arid areas of the planet is to keep carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere from putting too much strain on the temperature-regulating ability of the planet, what is to be grown, needs to fit the parameters that does the best in that. One of the ways of verifying what is needed and what is being grown is for there to be help between farms so that all of a sudden there are no poppies being grown to sell on the black market! Or a meth-type lab supplying drugs that will make more money, than the fisheries or vegetable sales would be bringing in. Refugees are a many-layered group of people, some are merely running away from an unacceptable life, others leave to escape from violence or persecution. But there will always be those whose concept of how to get ahead does not integrate well into a society that puts everyone's welfare on the same level. This is merely human nature, just as hate, greed, envy, lust, and all the good ones too, love, respect, empathy, friendship. Many people understand this and can be taught values that matter, but there are some that consider those that do follow these values are just that much easier to take advantage of. With a project as large as this we must remember to see the trees, not just the forest. Town sizes will be very important, big enough to supply all of the necessities of an enjoyable life, but not so large that you do not know your neighbors. One thing that can really make a difference in the interactions of these towns, would be that everyone old enough to need a phone would have one with the ability to translate, all of the languages spoken in the towns. This most essential ability will reduce much of the distrust that can occur between people of different backgrounds!           Just about everyone on this planet is prejudiced in some way, ugly, beautiful, short, tall, rich, poor, black white, or any color in between, male, female, gay, straight, or bi-sexual, or even not interested in sex at all. There are as many ways of being prejudiced as there are people on the planet, because we truly are all different from each other, it is how we treat others that either reinforces those beliefs, or overcomes our fears and moves us in a new direction. This is not a battle that you win one time, and say that you are no longer prejudiced, this is a constant battle between fear and reality, no one is only this or only that, we all have had millions of pictures of others doing great things, and great atrocities. No one can be unaffected by the realization that mankind is so very far from being where we could be! Nurture or Nature, neither and both, what can be said for someone, may be different for others, The best mankind can do is give others the best opportunities to start with, do not throw up obstacles simple because we can!
