B I was reading a scientific Journal recently, that was talking about why having such a low amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was needed!
I agreed that with the planet having so many arid and semi-arid areas on the planet, if mankind wishes to change nothing but the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, then keeping the levels below 300 parts per million of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, while not feasible with our level of technology, would return the climate of the planet back to a somewhat less extreme weather cycle! But would not stop extreme weather from happening! For everyone is fixating on greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and not the reason why throughout the history of carbon-based life on the planet, it has almost always been the ever slowly changing make-up of the atmosphere of the planet that has been the driving force for the necessary adaptation of life to fit within those parameters for all life to continue. 99.9% of all life that has ever existed on the planet is now extinct, and even if we could recreate any of that life and tried to nurture it at this point in time, The atmosphere and conditions now on the planet, would prove inhospitable to all but a tiny % of past lifeforms! Causes of why they could not survive, would range from a now poisonous atmosphere, to lack of nutrients such as iron in the plant life, to rainfall levels either insufficient or inconsistent with their needs. More would die because of their inability to deal with pathogens unknown! Only life's ability to adapt (not evolve) to changing conditions allows carbon-based life to still be on this planet 3,500,000,000 years later and with carbon dioxide levels 100's of times less available, than at the start of all carbon-based life! Yet, we do not seem to see that connection of reduction in atmospheric carbon dioxide and the slow steady increase of arid and semi-arid areas of the planet, starting the cascading effect of extreme temperatures, causing extreme weather. Cloud cover production and the corresponding reduction in sunlight hitting unprotected soils, keeping temperatures from sky-rocketing during daylight hours, and the blanket effect of the cloud cover during nighttime hours greatly reducing any temperature extremes in any single 24-hour period. Resulting in fewer, severe storm production, both locally and around the globe! Only by using the freshwaters of the rivers of the planet can we increase farming of these arid and semi-arid areas of the planet enough to increase overall cloud-cover and decrease pollution of the seas and oceans of the planet while improving the livelihood of many millions of the planet's poor. My diatribes are meant to educate and inform people from all over the planet, verifying any number that I give you is easy to do with just a few clicks on the internet from reputable sites! Check out what I am saying and then tell others for what is at stake is much more than some politician's pocketbook, or saving face because it turns out that it is not all mankind's fault! If it had all been caused by mankind then everyone ever born would be guilty, from billionaires all the way down to a monk living in a cave! Either because of living the way that we do or not understanding what the planet is facing and then doing what it takes to repair it. But it was never mankind's fault, to begin with, it is just the end result of this planet having abundant life on it for 3,500,000,000 years and the accompanying carbon sequestration that went hand and hand with that carbon-based life!
Mankind now has a great responsibility, not just to stop extreme weather, that only will benefit mankind's infrastructure, for only by reducing the arid and semi-arid areas of the planet and re-establishing the temperature-regulating abilities of the planet, can we begin the process of saving all carbon-based life on the planet! (and mankind's infrastructure) Thank you!
