U is for Unknowable, While nothing is unknowable if we strive to understand something, but in doing so we can misinterpret information gleamed!

        Throughout history, this has happened many times and has also taken years to realize when such mistakes have been made. Once something has been given credence in the general population, it becomes almost impossible to sway public opinion in another direction. One of the simplest examples of this, is the mistaken belief of how much iron is in the vegetable spinach, many decades ago a statistician moved the decimal point over one place and in doing so, made it appear that spinach had 10 times as much iron as most other vegetables. This one simple mistake, gave so many children that dislike the taste of spinach, nothing but fights between their parents, who now considered spinach as a wonder food that their children needed to eat! A cartoon was even made that gave the hero Popeye, almost superpowers in defeating Brutus, his arch-enemy and rival for the affections of Olive Oil, yet Popeye did not even like eating "his spinach"!                            It is not the problem of knowing, it is the understanding that becomes difficult. Right now here in Nebraska, they are talking about legalizing marijuana for medical purposes only. Five years in a row it has been defeated in the legislature, you can always find people who are willing and able to debate either side of an issue, depending on money and power, with few actual facts, among the discussion. Almost every major issue that is in America right now, from the "Black Lives Matter Movement" to "Pro-Choice versus Pro-life" to "Climate Change", to a million other issues that are not being debated with facts, but mainly "dogma", money, and racial bias or attitudes. Schools do not teach children how to make logical steps towards a solution for problems, but mainly to memorize by rote to regurgitate the same information back on demand. This process is then used in life to maintain the same belief systems that older generations instill in each following generation. It is no wonder that mainstream America, has never voted in civil change, it has always needed to be enacted by either a presidential decree, such as Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Act, The Supreme Court of the United States Made same-sex marriage a right, the people of the United States never have voted in such rights for others! We seem to be unable to see that "all people" are to be treated as equals, we could not even pass the "Equal Right Amendment" saying that men and women needed to be treated as equals!                                                       Knowledge is to be shared so that everyone can feel included, we do not even try to do that, or even pretend, that it is a hope we strive for. We lie, we cheat, we misinform, we do everything in our power to maintain the "status-quo" and set one group of people against everyone else. We sell out, we buy in, we need to feel in some way special, and not just another "cog in the wheel of life" and everyone seems to know just how easy it is to push everyone else's "button". Dan
