511 DXI In August of this year, it will be 5 years since I first started this blog site " https://lifecycleofaplanet.blogspot.com but over 15 years since I first did enough research of scientistic paper.

     Why did I wait so long? Since all of the research has already been done by others, and it was so well documented that others would surely do exactly the same thing that I did, and with the scientific community behind them, why would they need my input! I was not trying to figure out Global Warming and Climate Change, I was just trying to find out why Earth was not around 3,500 years into another ice-age! 

     Back in grade school in a little two-room school house in Davey, Nebraska. One of the teachers was Mrs Florence Bone, I thought that she was the Smartest person in the world, and she was teaching about ice-ages! She was telling us that Earth would go into an ice-age and then out of an ice-age into what was called an inter-glacial period! She had graphs showing that while ice ages themselves keep getting longer and longer over the 2.5 million years that Earth had them, the inter-glacial period would remain at around 10,000 years long! However, the present ice-age was already quite a bit longer than the "Normal" 10,000 years! So I asked her what I thought was a fair question "WHY"? Mrs. Bone the Smartest person in the world to an 8-year-old boy said that she did not know, but that I should go and try to find out, next time we went to the library in Lincoln, Nebraska.

     So I did, I read about Milankovitch Cycles that many scientists of the time felt explained the coming and going of ice-ages and the corresponding inter-glacial period, but nothing about why Earth was already around 13,500 years into another warm spell! This was around 1964 or 1965, and everything that was available to me was in libraries, newspapers, and magazines such as National Geographic. For the next 15-20 years and into college where better libraries became available, I would spend time reading papers about Ice-ages, but also about planets in our own solar systems. Both the U.S.A. and Russia were sending probes to Venus, Mars, and then farther out into the Gas Giants! All talking about looking for life elsewhere! I was very interested in the atmosphere that each planet had! 

     Back in the late 1970s Milankovitch cycles were being discussed, and Scientists had come to the conclusion that they did not cause the coming and going of the last 2.5 million years of ice-ages but only helped "PACED" them, (I loved that term "paced") it helped me understand many of the researched papers that I was reading, that were now including carbon-dioxide levels in the atmosphere as each set of ice-ages and inter-glacial period were progressing. The pacing that more or less energy Earth was receiving from the Sun and the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, only helped some researcher tie together the greenhouse effects of carbon dioxide and the start and stopping of ice-ages!

    Finally, When Russia's space probe of our twin planet Venus came back with the information of just how different Venus's Atmosphere was to Earth. 92 times as thick, and made up of 96% carbon dioxide, but no LIFE! While Earth had Life just about everywhere but almost no Carbon dioxide left in our atmosphere, but buried almost 100,000,000 gigatonnes of limestone that had once been life! Mars with almost no atmosphere, but what it had was still made up of around 96% carbon dioxide! everything fell into place!

     Carbon sequestration was the normal process of a planet having carbon-based life on it, without that life, it would remain in the atmosphere until acted upon it, by the lack of gravitational strength of the planet! I was now over 50 years old but all of the information necessary to understand what caused Earth to be around 13,500 years into a normal 10,000-year inter-glacial period! But this readily available information also explained why our addition of only a tiny 150 parts per million of additional carbon dioxide into the planet's atmosphere was now having such a large effort of Global Warming and Climate Change! 

     So I was satisfied and was quite certain that it was only a matter of time before many scientists would take the information that they themselves had collected and put it all together, just as I had. But I had to work to support my family, while Scientists could spent as much time as it required to find the true relationship between low levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of the planet, and the coming and going of ice-ages on the planet, but how the lack of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere also required the creation of arid and semi-arid area's around the planet so where the rainfall levels were high enough, abundant life could exist, and increasing temperatures were created where the Sun's energy could now allow Earth to keep the overall temperatures of the planet high enough to keep ice at bay!
