I started studying why Earth was not already well into another ice age when I was around 8 years old! Every prior interglacial period had lasted only around 10,000 years on average, yet Earth was now several thousand years past that timeframe! To me, our planet's past events were of the utmost importance. Granted, back in 1964, living on a farm 8 miles North of Lincoln, Nebraska, my ability to get to a modern library was almost non-existent. But when our small two-room schoolhouse closed up between my 6th and 7th grade, and Waverly, Nebraska, suddenly became my new school with a much bigger library than I had ever had access to.
But my graduation in 1975, and enrolling in the University of Nebraska, With ''Love Library'' right on campus, and even more importantly, there was a computer on campus that had just been made available that had direct access to several other universities, in what I believe was just about the first inter-collegiate computer terminals! Boy, did I download thousands of pages of information over the 2 years I was there. Unfortunately, information about Venus's Atmosphere and Snowball Earth Events has not yet been anything that I have come across! This information seemed to be discussed only within the scientific community. But once these two extremely important findings were put out into the general population, they led me in a completely different direction! When the Theia collision, which is believed to have created the moon, became mainstream around 1984, even though it was first proposed in 1946, ( Noticed another full generation of scientists had to die off), again, a new giant piece of the puzzle fell into place.
All of this information has been gathered and accepted by the Scientific Community, as presented by researchers and scientists. I have done nothing but read the works of thousands of others and put them in a format that explains how our planet's carbon cycle is out of balance and why this has been the underlying factor behind almost every single extinction event in our planet's history! The two big exceptions are the "Great Oxidation Event'' and the asteroid impact around 66 million years ago that wiped out the dinosaurs. Personally, I do not see the Great Oxidation Event as an extinction event; it was simply a response necessary for life to either adapt to changing atmospheric gases over millions and millions of years or be crowded out by life that could adapt. We see what scientists call a tree line on mountains, created both by temperature, but also the availability of gases in a thinner atmosphere! Does that not use the same cause for minimal tree life, where 90% of trees that could have existed several million years ago no longer exist? Should that be considered an extinction event?
By around 2009, everything had come together to explain why the next ice-age had not started, even though it should have started around 3,500 years ago. Everything was there; scientists and researchers had found the evidence, and since someone like me had put it all together, it was just a matter of time for others to do the same. I put everything down on paper and waited. I let ten years go by, I felt positive with the amount of information being digested by the seemingly two camps on what Global Warming and Climate Change meant, there must be thousands of people doing serious research on this very important subject, what I did not expect was two different camps becoming so ingrained in their either-or, that no other option could be considered. The first words I would hear when the subject of our planet's carbon cycle came about were "OF COURSE OUR PLANET'S CARBON CYCLE WAS PERFECT' or it was until the parasite of humans came aboard!
So, I was now 63 years old, had put together what had been learned by the thousands of scientists and researchers, so in August of 2019, I finished writing a poorly written 12-page paper, which did not simply explain our planet's past, but what would happen on any planet in the universe that used carbon as its basis for life! For neither the perpetual motion of life nor the 100% recycling of what life needs to continue will ever be possible without a thinking and acting species on such a planet! Humanity is that species on Earth!
